He started preaching at the age of 18. Along with his heart for pastoring and preaching, he is passionate about restoring hurting marriages and listening to the broken hearted. God has uniquely gifted him to give Biblical counsel to disintegrating marriages and families.
Bill and Becky Harness | Assistant Pastors | email Bill | email Becky No strangers to West Memphis First Assembly, Bill and Becky Harness married and began their ministry together in this church as volunteers in the Children’s Department. Before joining our staff, they spent several years in evangelistic ministry to families and children. Bill and Becky are lovingly known as Karate Man and Ms. Becky (a.k.a. Karate Woman) by many children and adult throughout the nation. Their humor, puppetry skills and relevant Bible messages have entertained and challenged congregations through out the United States. They have a heart for reaching and strengthening families for Christ.
Bill and Becky Harness serve as Assistant Pastors. Pastor Bill oversees the daily operation of the office, staff and the Student Ministries. Becky teaches Kindergarten at Avondale Elementary. They have one daughter, Heather, who is also active in ministries of the church.
Eric and Jackie Harrell | Children's Pastors | email Eric | email Jackie Natives of the West Memphis area, Eric and Jackie Harrell have been on staff as Children’s Pastors for 8 years. West Memphis and Marion High School graduates respectively, the couple has been married for 17 years and have 2 children. They serve as Children Pastors for the church.
Eric received a baseball scholarship and attended University of Arkansas at Monticello. He is also currently working to receive his credentials with the Assembly of God. His passion outside of ministry is coaching kids in local sports programs. Jackie has a heart for helping women who struggle with a guilt from the past.
Their favorite thing about working in children's ministry is watching kids learn scriptures and seeing their excitement when they know the answer to Bible questions. They love being a part of children learning to trust God with their problems and come to a new understanding of how much Jesus loves them.
Their goal is not only to reach the children but we want the entire family to accept the love Christ has to offer. The number one request we have from our kids who come with a friend or grandparent is that their parents would come to church with them.
Jackie has a heart for helping women who struggle with a guilt from the past.] She has shared her testimony at several other churches and held bible studies specific to this topic.
Clayton and Laurie Adams | Associate Pastors | email Clayton | email Laurie Clayton Adams married his high school sweetheart, Laurie over 26 years ago. They have four beautiful children, David, 25, Jeremy 22, Jordan, 17, and Anna, 12. Originally from Wisconsin, Arkansas has been home for over 15 years where God placed a passion and pursuit of ministry in their hearts.
Currently Clayton and Laurie serve First Assembly as fulltime Associate Pastors. In addition, they serve the Arkansas District Council as Sectional Treasurer and as the Christian Education Rep for Section 8. Clayton is also a presenter for the Teacher Enrichment Clinics for the National Sunday School Department.
Laurie has a passion and pursuit for women to find the value inside of themselves that God has placed there. After 40 years of separation from her birth Father, God restored to Laurie - forgiveness and love - and she takes her personal story and testimony and teaches thru Ladies Bible Studies, her blog (that is geared towards women) and a Prayer Support Forum. Tommy and Cheryl McCaul | Student Pastors | email Tommy | email Cheryl While a counselor at the Arkansas District Youth Camp, Pastor Tommy met his lovely wife Cheryl. They have been married for 10 years and have two great kids, Jarrett, 4, and Alayna, 1.
Tommy and Cheryl have been in ministry for 10 years and have a God given ability to connect with the youth of the Delta Region. Their passion is to see young people accept Christ and allow Him to transform their lives.
Although on staff with a Razorback fan, Pastor Tommy is a UNC Tarheels fan. He enjoys playing the drums, fishing, basketball and anything outdoors – and chocolate. Cheryl likes to shop for shoes and bargains! She collects hotwheels. Her passion is worship and singing. She is an anointed worship leader and devoted mom.
